This year's presentation evening will take place at the Heritage Hotel on Saturday 28th November. Trophies will be presented at 7:30pm sharp.
Admission is £2 on the night (which includes entry into the raffle). After the presentation you gain free admission to the Soul Night that the hotel is holding.
Any queries, please contact John Attridge or John Aldus

Was gonna turn up but apparently they were asking people on reentry for £6. for the soul night. Would rather stick red hot pins in my eyes than that so didnt bother. Had a good night tho as met up with a load of pool lads elsewhere. _________________ I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by six. |

| Was chatting to the Rileys B lads. They were impressed with their trophies but not with the night itself by all accounts. Must say it didnt seem very well advertised. |

| Maybe people don't want to pay £2 just to turn-up, collect their trophies and go back to their own pubs? Maybe people have other plans for Saturday nights? Maybe people just aren't interested in presentation nights per se? |

| Can understand people not wanting to pay an entry fee. What was that for? Not sure id buy the alternative Saturday night plans if the evening has been planned well in advance (although has it?). I think people do want to go in the main, if the information is put out there properly and its organised properly. |

It was advertised well in advance on here to be fair. One could make the argument that not everyone comes on here, but it's not a lot to ask that one player per team does.
If I'd have had nothing else to do I'd have gone, but it's not that high on my list of priorities that I'm going to keep the evening free for it. As it happened we had the chance to pull our long-awaited Ilkeston 3-man final in that night so we did that.
In my experience in other leagues presentation nights are very poorly supported. In all the Notts leagues I've played-in people just turn-up to get their trophies and then leave immediately thereafter, and Ilkeston league doesn't even bother with presentation evenings. |

I'd guess that alot of people enter for the night out, especially the lower divisions. Thats not to say they dont want to win, just that winning isn't everything to them.
I'd also agree that saturday nights are generally busy for most people. You only need one or two of your team to already have plans then the rest start thinking is it worth going without them.
It's a hard situation for the league really. They use to do it on a sunday and people (me included) moaned about having work the next day. Now people moan about being a saturday night when alot of people have plans.
One thing for sure and is always the case, us pool players generally like to moan and are hard to please!! |

| The Ashbourne league double up their presentation night with cup finals night. So in our case you would turn up to play in/watch the Super Cup final with the presentation immediately afterwards. But of course that doesnt mean everyone else would attend but it seems to work for them. Maybe cos its a smaller league and it means more to them. In Derby we have umpteen leagues and competitions so perhaps they're all a little diluted. |

Combining the presentation with the cup final or the singles final isn't a bad idea.
The only way to guarantee that people can make the presentation is to do it on the same night as the league is normally played on, but like Tom says, that means work the morning after! |

my opinion is why are people gonna play all season and then have to pay £2 to get in the presentation ,whats that for anyway you might aswell celebrate at your own pub get in free and cheap beer ,i was there on sat and if it wasnt for the soul night afterwards it would of been a very dissapoiting night |

| Talking of presentation nights, is there going to be one for the Winter league? I reckon we have a good chance of a trophy and it's all about the trophy collection for me (although I turned up 5 mins late Friday and never got chance to make a speech or anything, still... nice trophy) |

| No presentation in Winter. As far as i know its just a few quid to the divisional winners/runners-up and play-off winners/runners-up. Mark said the prize fund would be posted here a while ago but ive not seen anything. |
