That's well clever that is, isn't it, clashing it with a county match.  What bright spark came-up with that idea?

Were the finals dates advertised at the start of the season? If so no one who entered can really complain.

No, I downloaded the dates and the finals had not been mentioned.  In fact the meeting to discuss the finals dates is supposed to be tonight according to the document.

To clarify I cannot make it because of a christening in Eastbourne at 2pm which my brother had organised months ago. If I had known the dates of the mixed doubles finals on that date then I would have had to make a difficult decision either way but that is not the case. With the best will in the world I will be unable to meet the registration time.

I have just heard that the mixed doubles finals night will be on Thursday 29th October at McCluskeys at 7pm.  Excellent news.  It is booked in the diary for both Hannah and myself. Look forward to it.

A modicum of common sense, then.

Just a shame that Craig Bousfield, Craig Lakin and Jack Whelan will all miss-out on the singles final stages...

Yes common sense didn't prevail there. I only heard about the mixed doubles and thought that the others would be re-arranged to suit.  Certainly on a Thursday.

So there will only be 5 players contesting the singles quarter-finals then?

I play county and John Attridge hasnt told me we have a county match.

Come to think of it i havent seen any of the players your on about either. I guess they must be 'B' or 'C' team players. Wink

Cant imagine Joe giving up county to play in a 5-man singles knockout, mind you he does live in Spondon (near McCluskey's) so you never know.

Not missing much with Yarmouth. Its about 4 quid a pint and the food is terrible. Speaking of which i hope we're not in the Loudon's division next season. good luck tonight though John, but i fear its out of your hands.
