What does Alan Benton claiming that he put your pre-lim draw/accomodation booking form in the post, Carl not receiving it and Alan throwing your team out have to do with the committee clashing the singles and doubles finals-day with county? Has Alan Benton got through to the finals or something? Confused

Having benefitted from some leniency with the 4-man league singles deadlines I'd have thought you of all people would have been sympathetic, but it looks like some people just have very, very short memories...

Much-like yourself mate, it doesn't impact upon me personally...

Driving into Derby and back and going to strange pubs on my own just to play rolling-up-to-balls rules is of no real interest to me, but another part of the reason I didn't enter any competitions in the first-place was that I knew stunts like this would get pulled.

I just feel sorry for the four players it will affect, as well as for the four it won't actually, as it will now be devalued for whoever wins it owing to there not being a full eight quarter-finalists present.

I suppose it would go some way toward mitigating that if all four players with a clash didn't show-up, but I'd strongly imagine it will be the case that some will and some won't, thus leaving some people with a quarter-final to play and others with byes into the semis.

The voices are increasing and getting louder. Makes sense really.

Anyway, presumedly if 4 turn up on Sunday they all get a bye into the Semis. Byes in the quarter-finals!!! There wouldnt be any of this if i were on the committee of course.

Yep. Any position would do. Im the logical choice and it is only a matter of time. But they dont need a treasurer, the guy doing it now does a good job. Im more your secretary/disciplinary/rules-type of person and, i must say, im the best man for the job(s).

I still haven't been contacted about our mixed doubles semi-final. Do we just turn up on Thursday? I Would be grateful if someone from the Committee would let me know asap.

Jack and Ann beat Dean and Sam 4-1 in the semi final and then beat Mark and Hannah 4-3 on a re-rack final frame in the final.

Well done both.
