Can of worms? Yes id be up for a game with you.
Phil phoned me today asking to play at Old rules but the challenge is for World rules. I nominate the Cornishman as the venue if they'll agree and phil's happy with that. |

Weekdays are awkward for me, if i'm gonna play for cash i have to be in right frame of mind, let me know when your not fishing one weekend and we can get it on. Cheers mate. _________________ I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by six. |

Daz, I will back him for £50 against you. I think it is unfair to request world rules when you know he doesn't really play them!! Black ball rukes i think is a fair medium.
If you accept this then i think The George would be a good venue, dont forget that he has only played there for 1 week so it isn't like it is his home ground really. You know the table is good and i will make sure it is brushed and ironed before hand.
Going back to what you were saying about phils behavior, he is still a young lad who wants to perform and do well in his match play. I dont think you can critercise him for that. I wish more players were as enthusiastic as phil it would make pool a lot more fun. Sadly for a lot of the pool leagues pool has lost that element and has become a game of polotics. Not really a good night out if it turns into that!!!!! |

Firstly Phil does know World rules, he's played interleague for 2 years, played in the Sunday night World rules league for at least that long and has had several trips to Yarmouth playing those rules.
As for the table i agree the George Cross table is very good and i know how well you look after it. Im sure we'll be staging Monday league cup matches there at some point! However i wil have to think about whether i want to play on Phil's home table, i already offered him a venue with no reply.
Regarding the backing, ive already stated to Phil this is about me and him putting down £50 each ad having a match. If other people are going to put up the cash i think that de-values the match, it takes away the whole piont really. However, whatever the outcome, id be willing for a re-match wth you backing him in the second match no problem. For the first match though its about me and Phil both 50 of our own money on the line. No offence to you or anyone else.
And for Phil's actions..............if it was a case of him beng a "young, enthusiastic lad" id accept it but he's always been that way and he only thinks about Number One. To be honest i dont think he cares too much even if your team loses, as long as he wins his frame(s). Its just a personal thing. I dont dislike Phil as a human being just the way he acts at pool so the challenge is there if he will take it. |

The ball is in Phil's court mate. Ive made the challenge:
Daz v Phil - £50-a-man
Both players putting their own money up
Venue TBC
World rules, best of 19 frames
Upto him now |

I think Daz has a point wanting to play someone with their own money but in all honesty how the hell do you know if the money was actually phils or not?
You could both turn up at the corn ready to play, get your fiftys out only Phil called at the George Cross on the way to the corn and picked up fifty off Dave. |

Fair comment Tom. I'd ask Phil to agree to the terms above and if he goes back on it there isnt much anyone can do we just have to take Phil at his word. I hope he doesnt break it. Plus, as i said already, whatever the result id be happy to play him again and let backers get involved in the second match no problem. The challenge ive set is for the first match.
As for "deliberatefoul" and "jb1" they've both stated they are interested in a match but havent elaborated any further so im waiting for them to cme back to me with their terms. |

| Yeah he told me last night he would play, he was trying to talk me into playing at George Cross. Told him id play, as long as its World rules and his own cash and we could agree the venue but we appear to be at a disagreement over the venue bit. |

He knows very well you are not going to play at the George although his backer would like that. You have both played at the Corn X regularly so it would make sense to play it there. If i was you Daz i would forget it. He dont want to play you
